Since 2017, the engineers at Bernina headquarters in Steckborn, Switzerland have been working intensively and under strict secrecy on the new BERNINA 990.
The BERNINA 990 includes a meticulously engineered extended free arm with 14" (356mm) of space to the right of the needle and the Giant Embroidery Hoop (16.1" x 12") providing you with ample space for big, beautiful sewing, quilting and embroidery projects, 10" centrally located colour touch screen with multi touch gestures, BERNINA Placement Scanner and Camera, BERNINA Integrated Stitch Regulator (BSR), Jumbo stitch: Resize stitch patterns from 25% to 500%, automatic needle threader, automatic stitch plate detection and so much more.

Sewing, quilting and embroidering like magic with the Bernina 990
The new BERNINA sews at 1,200 stitches per minute, offers 2,927 stitches and 897 integrated embroidery designs and is equipped with many innovative functions, such as a scanner, camera and a laser, which enables precise placement of designs directly on the ergonomic 10" display which is built into the centre of the machine. The machine is 26.5" (67cm) wide and offers an astonishing 14" (356mm) of space to the right of the needle.
